Always an occasion to relax and enjoy at The Reliance pub in Leeds
The Reliance is a total gem, a bit off the beaten track, five minutes walk from the top of Leeds city centre. It’s well worth seeking out though as, in my opinion, it is one of the nicest, most relaxed, friendly and cool places to spend time in Leeds city centre.
Great for a first date (or any date really), a Sunday lunch flipping through the papers, a couple of excellent glasses of wine or beers on a Saturday night, or a group get together with some seriously good food. The Sunday night quiz is also well worth a look in!
The beer is carefully selected with some fabulous local brews on tap as well as some great Belgian varieties, my personal favourites. There’s also an excellent wine list which has never dissappointed. The menu is small and simple but always great quality. I’m pretty sure that most of the food is locally sourced and it’s definitely seasonal. I always struggle to convince myself that I should have anything else to eat other than the Erdinger-battered fish and twice cooked chips. It’s absolutely divine!
There is no occasion on which I have not enjoyed being at The Reliance, whether sat at the bar with half a pint of Vedett or tucking into fish and chips. It’s not a place for rushing, it’s a place for savouring, and the really great thing is that it’s the kind of place you can take any friend or family member to and be sure that they’ll love it just as much as you!
